You don’t always have a scale handy, and even if you don’t have a measuring tape, estimating length is usually easier than guessing weight. To help with this, here’s a useful chart showing the average weight of a zucchini based on its length.
We measured green zucchini, the most common variety. These figures represent an average, as individual zucchinis may vary.
Zucchini length | Average weight |
16 cm | 176 g |
20 cm | 335 g |
22 cm | 350 g |
24 cm | 380 g |
25 cm | 425 g |
Zucchini length | Average weight |
6 inches | 6 oz |
8 inches | 11.8 oz |
8.7 inches | 12.3 oz |
9.5 inches | 13.5 oz |
9.8 inches | 15 oz |
Beyond 25 cm, zucchini tend to lose quality. At this stage, they are close to maturity, contain more seeds, and the interior is likely to become soft and less appetizing.
